Are you looking for the friendliest dog breeds? Dogs are great companions for a whole wealth of reasons, but different breeds definitely have different personality traits. Some dog breeds tend to be rather aloof and independent, whereas others are super fun-loving and sociable. Here are some of the friendliest dog breeds, perfect for the family home.

The Friendliest Dog Breeds

Golden Retriever

Golden Retrievers are probably infamous for being the most friendly of all dog breeds. They’re eager to please, love to cuddle and exercise, and are super loyal by nature. Generally, they’re quite chilled out and calm in nature, but they’re friendly with almost everyone they meet. They’re not known to be very territorial and are incredibly difficult to anger.

Pug

Pugs are one of the friendliest dog breeds because they’re so sociable. They’re incredibly loyal and albeit a bit clingy. That just makes them all the friendlier though!

Beagles

Beagles are probably one of the most popular breeds of dogs to have in a family home because they’re known to be so friendly. While a little bit dopey, they’re super loveable and loyal. They’re known to be “happy-go-lucky” dogs, and there’s a reason for it!

They were originally bred in packs to be used as hunting dogs, so they’re used to being around others. This is just one of the reasons they’re so friendly.

Border Collie

Collies are angels at heart and generally don’t have a mean bone in their body. They’ve got a tonne of energy and need to stay very activeea

They’re an incredibly loyal breed and are known to be one of the friendliest dog breeds around their owners and families. However, they can be a bit reserved around strangers because they can be shy and cautious of people they don’t know. They’re quick to warm up, though, once they know you can be trusted!

Boxer

These gentle dogs are super loyal, fun and smart. They can be silly at times but that just means they’re a great family pet as they’re fantastic around young children. They’re also super easy to train and have a ton of energy that they need to burn off!
